Once again the British Philharmonic Concert orchestra delight audiences with a traditional rousing Proms Gala with all the Pomp and flag waving you can muster. This year will celebrate great music from The British Isles and music with a British Influence from around the world. Mark Langley will provide his usual merriment and wit and our soloists will encourage you to sing louder and raise the roof. Of course Rule Brittania, Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, Sailors Hornpipe will feature in the concert along with lots more favourites to wave your flags to. 19th August. The Playhouse Theatre. Join us on a grand tour of a variety of gins from all over the UK. From local specialties, to flavoured gins, to traditional craft batches, there’s so much to choose from! When you arrive, you’ll be presented with your passport to a whole nation full of gin, which contains information on the 20 different gins ready and waiting for you behind our gin bar. Weston Lions Real Ale and Cider Festival 2017Explorer’s Month
From 1st August to 31st August 2017 SeaQuarium Weston is hosting their annual Explorer’s Event Budding explorer’s are invited to join Livingstone the Explorer and Sid the Shark as they delve below the waves to search for all of its colourful inhabitants around the aquarium. The Explorers event has various talks and demonstrations taking place throughout the day, where guests are invited to learn more about the weird and wonderful oceans of the world. Guests can become an explorer for the day and can even have the chance to get up close and personal with come creepy crawlies in our phobia zone, including the stick insects in the daily interactive demonstration! 1st - 30 August. It’s time to return to the music, the fashion and the freedom of England in the swinging 60s. It’s the dawning of women’s liberation as we follow five groovy girls as they come of age. Crammed full of brilliant music from both sides of the pond, made famous by the likes of Dusty Springfield, Petula Clarke and Cilla Black, and linked together by the adverts, newspapers and magazines of the day.
