Project Carnivora Roars to Life – Join Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm for Landmark Moment as Lions Explore Their New Habitat

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, a leading Zoo and Conservation Charity in North Somerset, is proud to unveil the first milestone of its ambitious multi-phase development — Project Carnivora.

On Thursday 24th April, the Zoo’s pride of African lions – Mother Arusha and her two sons, Kojo and Tau – will step into their newly redesigned habitat for the very first time.

The moment marks a major milestone in the Zoo’s ambitious Project Carnivora which set out to transform the existing lion habitat and create brand-new spaces to welcome tigers, Artic Foxes and Hooded Vultures, creating habitats where these incredible animals can thrive.

The innovative new habitat was designed by specialist zoo architect Jonathan McLoughlin of Dearadh Zu. The landscape has been carefully created to reflect the lions’ natural environment, featuring elevated mounds allowing them to reach higher ground and large boulders for climbing and sunbathing. The habitat incorporates mature trees and new planting to provide shade and shelter, while importantly retaining the bamboo plantations that provided the birthing place for Arusha to deliver Kojo and Tau back in 2016.
